And, eating a complete meal on-the-go can be even more challenging. In an attempt to curb hunger cues many people turn to protein bars to replace a skipped meal. A question we get often is, &#8220;<em>Are protein bars a good option for snacks and meal-replacements?<\/em>&#8220;<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"7qeqt-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"f5s10\" data-offset-key=\"9ud45-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"9ud45-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9ud45-0-0\"><strong>The short answer is\u2014Yes!<\/strong>\u00a0Protein bars can be a simple, ready-to-eat, nutritious snack. A bar with a decent amount of protein and high quality ingredients can be a practical solution. The main problem we&#8217;ve discovered is that most bars are high in sugar. As well as additives and preservatives. In fact, a Chocolate Chip Clif Bar (23g Sugar) has almost the same amount of added sugar as a Snickers Bar (27g Sugar)!<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"9ud45-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"f5s10\" data-offset-key=\"4i357-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"4i357-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"4i357-0-0\">So, how do you find the right protein bar to keep us on track with our nutrition goals?<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"4i357-0-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"f5s10\" data-offset-key=\"3tvjj-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"3tvjj-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"3tvjj-0-0\">When choosing a bar we want to stick to:<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-ul\" data-offset-key=\"24uev-0-0\">\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-unorderedListItem public-DraftStyleDefault-reset public-DraftStyleDefault-depth0 public-DraftStyleDefault-listLTR\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"f5s10\" data-offset-key=\"24uev-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"24uev-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"24uev-0-0\">Lower sugar options (less than 10 grams added sugar).<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-unorderedListItem public-DraftStyleDefault-reset public-DraftStyleDefault-depth0 public-DraftStyleDefault-listLTR\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"f5s10\" data-offset-key=\"7uhcb-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"7uhcb-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"7uhcb-0-0\">Higher fiber options (at least 5 g per bar).\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-unorderedListItem public-DraftStyleDefault-reset public-DraftStyleDefault-depth0 public-DraftStyleDefault-listLTR\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"f5s10\" data-offset-key=\"ai4ne-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"ai4ne-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"ai4ne-0-0\">Determine whether it is a snack or a full meal replacement. For a snack bar it should be around 10 grams of protein per serving, and for a full meal at least 15 grams.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-unorderedListItem public-DraftStyleDefault-reset public-DraftStyleDefault-depth0 public-DraftStyleDefault-listLTR\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"f5s10\" data-offset-key=\"qfqs-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"qfqs-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"qfqs-0-0\">Check the ingredients for allergy or dietary needs, for example dairy-free or nut-free.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"f5s10\" data-offset-key=\"4ui7s-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"4ui7s-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"4ui7s-0-0\">Are there any protein bars that we recommend?
